Kurnalpi Region Projects

Kurnalpi Region Projects

Western Australia

The Kurnalpi Project comprises ten Exploration Licences and one Application. It is located between ~ 50 km and 120 km east to south-east of the significant regional mining centre town of Kalgoorlie–Boulder in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia (WA).

The principal mineralisation style associated with the Project area is Archaean mesothermal lode gold. This type of mineralisation occurs worldwide in Archaean Greenstone belts of similar age to the Eastern Goldfields Province of WA, such as the Abitibi in Ontario, Canada. It is typified by fault and shear-relate, mineralisation that can occur in a spectrum of styles ranging from narrow, high-grade vein associated (e.g. Kundana near Kalgoorlie, or Kirkland Lake in the Abitibi), to shear hosted disseminated (e.g. Thunderbox near Leonora), to sheeted vein or stockwork mineralisation (e.g. Mt Charlotte in Kalgoorlie).

The tenements within the Kurnalpi Project have a long history of exploration however in some cases drilling has been shallow and sporadic, leaving a number of highly prospective targets to be tested by Riversgold.

The Kurnalpi tenement package is divided into four sub-projects with a number of targets:

  • Yilgani
  • Kurnalpi North – Acra South, Coffee Swamp, Queen Lapage, Reef Tank, Ella/Farr-Jones and Cutler
  • Kurnalpi South – Jaws, Round Hill, Angel Fish
  • Alloy JV
